The first graders really enjoyed sculpting their fish out of clay and learning about all the different techniques involved. The fish were bisque fired and then painted with tempera paint with a glaze sprayed on top.

Winter trees and discussing what a silhouette is. The sunset was colored with oil pastels and the tree was colored in with permanent marker.

Texture turkeys....we took a look at the beautiful Ocellated Turkey found on the Yucatan Peninsula. We made our turkeys just as colorful and with many textures from yarn, tissue paper, paint and oil pastels.

Landscapes....working on using geometric shapes to create houses and trees. We also worked on perspective and learned about the horizon line.
